Grew up with John Kutz in Federal Way we lived in the same neighborhood Century Palisades when I moved to Washinton from California 1974. We went to grade school (Twin Lakes) , Junior High (Lakota) as well as High School together he was a very close & good friend that shared many fond memories as well as "rights of passage" that youths go through some good  some bad but all were cherished. We did not take the bus to Kennedy we car pooled from Federal Way to Kennedy for most of our first few years. Spent 100's of hours if not thousands with John during those years. I could go on for hours about the stories that we shared. Maybe when I have more time I'll share some of those treasured memories. I stil lmiss John's laugh ,smile and companionship every day.

I remember John's insane treehouse, the badass VW bug, the experimental mountain bikes John built for Allsop, the stories of him riding his kayak off the embankment from his home on Chukanut into the river, and his smile. John was such an amazing soul.

I tell people all the time that they should go to their reunions because after 10 years, it was then that I caught up with John again. He was always on the move in those early years. After the 10 year reunion, we jumped on some of his experimental bikes and took a short ride. That was the last time I saw John. I think of him all the time, and miss him terribly. What a lover of life he was. May we all relish the gift as he did, thank you John for that lesson.

I love ya bro,
D

I remember hearing about John's passing in 93' through a few classmate friends and was deeply saddened. He was a good guy and jovial as I recall now and full of life. Way to young to go.... I think it was late during our junior year he threw a party at his parents house or hosted one (much to their shagrin!) and he and Scott Goodwin invited Bill Blackstone 80', Terry Hildebrant 82', and I to come over and rock out with our new band!! We played some Scorpions, AC/DC, UFO, Rush, Montrose (with young Sammy Hagar) and Judas Priest. It was huge fun looking back and we'll always cherish those times....We'll see you again someday brother!!

I remember the tree house and the party. Who could forget. I did a little jamming myself with Terry Hildebrand and Daryl as well. But what I remember most about John was it that giant grin never left his face. You always felt so good when you were around him. I never thought about it till now but I guess I miss him also.
